A surgeon educator and healthcare manager with over 35 years of practice with local and international leadership and management experience in healthcare and higher education; a champion of IT solutions in healthcare management including the set-up of HMIS and EMR; national and international player in Global access to surgery in the framework of UHC. He has held many leadership positions in Rwanda and outside.
He was Vice-Chancellor of the former National University of Rwanda. He also was the CEO of King Faisal Hospital, Kigali, and under his leadership, the hospital was accredited and re-accredited by COHSASA (SA). Currently the University of Rwanda Clinical Professor of Urology, he has taught urology
for many years and is still the urology resident director as well as the COSECSA (College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa) urology panel head. He has actively been involved in various national health-related policy formulation.
